The Role

Providing a pivotal role in ensuring workforce competence, this new role will be accountable for the Training and Competence framework across Serica’s assets.

The lead will ensure adequate processes and systems are in place to facilitate the training and competence assessment and verification of employees, providing competency monitoring and assurance of third parties to ensure all personnel are fully equipped to meet operational, regulatory and safety requirements on any site or asset.

This role will support onshore and offshore operations, both across Serica’s North Sea assets and for the London and Aberdeen offices.

What we are looking for in potential candidates:

  • A track record in designing, delivering and managing a fit for purpose competence and training framework, ideally within the energy or similarly safety-critical industry.
  • Proven track record in managing training and competency systems and strategies including leading relevant change programmes.
  • Strong understanding of technical operations, safety protocols and risk management, ideally within an oil and gas environment.
  • Preferably degree qualified, or equivalent, in a relevant field such as engineering, operations, health and safety or learning and development.
  • OPITO Assessor and Verifier qualification is desirable.
  • Strong, safety-first mindset, with decision making capabilities that are underpinned by sound technical knowledge.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Collaborative and team oriented, with strong stakeholder engagement skills.

The Roles

These newly created roles will provide the essential administrative and operational support in HR to ensure the smooth delivery of HR/people services across the employee lifecycle. Although working closely on shared tasks, one role will focus on generalist activities while the other will have more of an analytical focus.

Delivering proactive, people related solutions, with a customer focused mindset, these roles will support onshore and offshore operations, both across Serica’s North Sea assets and for the London and Aberdeen offices.

What we are looking for in potential candidates:

  • Previous HR experience, with an understanding of the full lifecycle of HR/people processes.
  • Experience within the oil and gas industry advantageous.
  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent, and ideally working towards CIPD.
  • Attention to detail and data accuracy are essential.
  • Strong organisational, communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Excel and comfortable with IT systems and workflows.
  • For the more analytical role, proficiency in Power BI, HRIS platforms along with analytics certifications would be helpful.
  • An enthusiasm for working collaboratively.
