The Role

This role supports the full spectrum of corporate economic planning and analysis, providing high quality insights across budgeting, forecasting, asset evaluations, and M&A activities.

As part of the Group Economics team, the role contributes to key corporate workstreams, including Management and Board reporting, performance analysis, and Investor Relations materials.

The position requires strong economic modelling capability, the ability to work with large datasets, and close collaboration with asset teams to ensure the accuracy and integrity of corporate forecasts and evaluations. Based at head office, the role reports directly to the Group Economics Manager.

What we are looking for in potential candidates

  • 3–5 years’ relevant professional experience in analytical or business‑focused roles
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a related discipline
  • Demonstrable experience within the oil and gas sector, ideally gained within an E&P company, consultancy, or financial institution
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, essential for building, interpreting, and presenting complex analyses
  • Strong analytical and modelling skills, with a proven ability to solve complex business problems
  • Good understanding of the Oil & Gas value chain, from exploration through to commercial delivery
  • Experience in Corporate Finance, with an understanding of public‑company dynamics and market drivers
  • Strong communication skills, able to convey complex information clearly and support effective information exchange
  • Experience working with large datasets, applying structured problem‑solving and logical reasoning to ensure accuracy and insight
  • Capability to perform detailed economic analysis, including scenario and sensitivity assessments, asset evaluations, and M&A‑related analysis
  • Ability to work closely with cross‑functional teams, supporting both asset‑level and corporate‑level planning
  • Strong presentation and reporting skills, able to prepare clear narratives, executive summaries, and Board‑level materials
  • A proactive, flexible mindset, with the ability to support ad hoc strategic projects, improvement initiatives, and business planning cycles
