Role Purpose

  • Responsible for driving continuous improvement in health, safety and environment performance at the site
  • Drives safety culture improvement via a deep understanding of human performance, fostering a culture of care
  • Delivers conformance with HSE related OMS requirements and compliance with HSE legislation
  • Provides challenge, coaching and support to the Offshore Installation Manager and their site teams to deliver continuous improvement
  • This role is part of the platform leadership team

Main Tasks

Please note that this list of duties is not exhaustive, and employees will be expected to undertake reasonable duties commensurate of their role and grade.
  • Work with staff and contractors to drive a positive safety culture
  • Develop and conduct safety related training as required
  • Actively participate in site risk management processes – hazard identification, risk assessments etc
  • Conduct verification and assurance activities to test OMS compliance and effectiveness
  • Facilitate emergency response exercises, maintaining platform readiness to respond to all emergency response scenarios in the Emergency Response Plans
  • Radiological Protection Supervisor – liaise with the Radiological Protection Authority to ensure platform compliance with Radiation Local Rules
  • Interrogate platform safety inputs and safety systems to identify trends, insights and opportunities to improve safety performance
  • Coordinate the platform induction process to ensure new starts to the platform are brought into the Safety Culture
  • Conduct investigations as required and provide coaching and QA/QC to others where required.
  • Support regulatory inspections
  • Prepare and deliver regular HSE meetings
  • Manage regulatory compliance on site and support leadership where regulatory reporting is required
  • Support activities to improve environmental performance E.g. GHG and waste reduction 

Professional Skills

  • Experience in Oil and Gas or other top tier COMAH industry
  • Knowledge of risk assessment and control of work practices
  • Process Safety management knowledge

Behavioural Skills

  • Demonstrable experience in a Safety Leadership role
  • Safety coaching, presentation and communication skills

Education Requirements

  • Relevant degree with safety focus, NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • IOSH certification
  • Microsoft Office package fluency
  • Synergi Life fluency
