Department: BKR Asset Operations
Reports to: BKR Maintenance Manager
Salary: Competitive
The Role
Join Serica Energy as a Control and Instrumentation Engineer, playing a key part in keeping our operated BKR assets running safely, reliably and efficiently. Based in Aberdeen, this onshore role works closely with offshore teams and vendors to provide day‑to‑day technical C&I support across operations.
Reporting to the BKR Maintenance Manager, the role is hands‑on and delivery‑focused. You will act as the first point of contact for C&I matters, helping manage risk, address vulnerabilities and ensure systems continue to operate within design and safety limits. From supporting maintenance planning through to troubleshooting non‑routine issues, you’ll have a real impact on asset integrity and operational performance.
Communication and collaboration sit at the heart of this role. You’ll work closely with offshore technicians, planners, vendors and wider asset teams to make sure work scopes are clear, risks are well understood and maintenance activity is executed safely and to a high standard.
Continuous improvement is part of how we work. You’ll review performance data, contribute to risk assessments and Management of Change, and look for practical ways to strengthen process safety and reliability. Just as importantly, you’ll bring a learning mindset — sharing knowledge, asking questions and helping the team improve how work gets done.
Above all, you’ll operate in line with Serica’s values, taking ownership for your discipline, showing respect for colleagues and contractors, and keeping safety, integrity and wellbeing at the centre of every decision.
What we are looking for in potential candidates:
We are looking for a C&I engineer who enjoys being close to operations and has a strong appreciation of how good engineering supports safe, reliable production.
A practical, delivery‑focused engineer who values a hands‑on contribution to everyday asset performance.
Experience working in a C&I role within an oil and gas operating environment, with an understanding of maintenance practices, Safety Instrumented Systems and the realities of supporting offshore activity and maintenance execution.
A clear communicator who works well with others across disciplines, takes ownership for issues and follows them through to resolution in a pragmatic and organised way.
Someone who is safety‑focused, open to learning and comfortable challenging constructively, with a genuine interest in continuous improvement and doing things the right way.
Motivation to make a tangible day‑to‑day impact within a supportive, values‑driven environment.
