The Role

As a key member of our multi‑discipline operations team, you will safely and efficiently operate and maintain process and utilities systems to support delivery of production targets, in full compliance with Serica’s Operating Management System (OMS). You will take ownership of plant operations, contributing to planning activities and supporting continuous improvement.

  • Report to the Production Supervisor while working proactively and independently day‑to‑day.
  • Act as a role model for Serica’s HSEQ standards and expectations.
  • Work closely with onshore operations and engineering teams to support all process‑related activities.
  • Demonstrate strong personal leadership in safety, working to Serica’s HSEQ standards and OMS requirements.
  • Maintain safe, compliant operations with an awareness of major hazards and operational risks.
  • Support production performance by managing day‑to‑day operational priorities, maintaining plant integrity, and contributing to optimisation opportunities.
  • Ensure clear, accurate shift handovers and compliance with operational procedures, work control systems, and permit-to-work requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with onshore operations and engineering teams to resolve issues and support continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance routines, defect reporting, and equipment records, ensuring high‑quality data in Maximo.
  • Oversee vendors and visitors on site, ensuring adherence to safety standards.
  • Monitor plant and well performance, identify anomalies or improvement opportunities, and raise them promptly with the Production Supervisor and onshore support.

What we are looking for in potential candidates:

  • HNC in a relevant discipline or completion of Accredited Apprenticeship Programme.
  • Experience as a Control Room Technician and/or Production Technician (onshore or offshore).
  • Strong safety leadership with a solid understanding of offshore safety management and legislation.
  • Proven ability to respond effectively to major incidents and emergencies.
  • Track record of high performance within multi‑discipline teams.
  • Ability to work offshore on a rotational basis and meet offshore medical requirements (including drug testing).
  • Demonstrated ability to drive improvement and contribute to high‑performing teams.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to develop clear procedures.
  • Strong performance in trade discipline and collaborative team working.
  • Coaching or mentoring skills.
  • Experience supporting drilling, well services or pipeline operations.
  • Consistently strong HSE performance and contribution to solving complex operational problems.
