The Role – Corporate Accountant

The role is an integral part of the Aberdeen Finance team, responsible for providing Corporate accounting support for Serica Operations support and Corporate activities lead by London team. This position ensures the integrity of key financial information and ensuring Serica’s control framework, supporting both the Aberdeen and London teams with key financial information ensuring compliance with various financial reporting requirements and completeness.

What we are looking for in potential candidates

  • Professional Accounting qualification such as ICAS/ICEAW, CIMA, ACCA
  • Strong Systems knowledge of Sunsystems, preferably Maximo
  • Can demonstrate experience in a relevant Oil and Gas industry role
  • Can articulate learning and training experiences
  • Strong understanding of Joint Venture accounting system processes, general ledger accounting and balance sheet control
  • Good communication (both verbal & written) and team working skills
  • Plan and manage workload within challenging timetables
  • Strong system processes understanding and ability to incorporate automated assurance checks and balances within Sun and between Sun and Maximo.
  • Strong analytical and determined approach to interrogation of system anomalies.
  • Strong excel skills and experience of extracting financial reporting information from SUN accounting systems (SUN, Q&A Data Extraction
