The Role
Working closely with the Business Management Team, the placement student will gain hands-on experience supporting key business processes and deliverables within an upstream oil and gas company. This role offers an opportunity to develop an understanding of business planning and performance improvement whilst working across various teams to gather data and build practical skills in data analysis and interpretation.
Supporting the business management team, the business planning analyst will support the following activities:
- Enhancing business processes – assist the team build and improve current processes:
- Build new and/or simplify existing excel models to aid variance analysis & provide decision makers with range of information in a timely manner
- Automation of manual reports/linking to current systems
- Assist the BA with monthly reporting cycle, communicating KPIs to the organization & joint venture partners
- Support the 2026 business planning process both in terms of the budgeting process and production forecast work ensuring data is gathered from the business, modelled & documented.
- Help prepare senior management presentations on the proposed 2026 budget & long-term business plan for the Serica assets.
