Serica 65% (operator), Agora 35%
Serica was awarded a 100% interest in blocks 113/26b and 113/27c (collectively Licence P1482) in the UK 24th Offshore Licensing Round in 2007. The blocks cover a total area of approximately 145 square kilometres in the East Irish Sea and lie immediately to the north of the Millom field and within ten kilometres of the Morecambe field - one of the UK's largest gas fields. The prospective reservoir is the Sherwood Sandstone of Triassic age that is also the producing reservoir in the Morecambe field.
Serica identified two Sherwood sand gas prospects, Conan and Doyle, and drilled the Conan prospect in May 2010. Conan exhibited a large seismic amplitude anomaly at the top of the Sherwood sand at about 1,776 metres, but no hydrocarbons were encountered in the well. Serica had entered into a farm-out agreement with Agora Oil & Gas (UK) AS ("Agora") under the terms of which Agora funded 70% of the Conan well costs and earned a 35% interest in the licence.
Serica 100%
Block 110/2d covers an area of approximately 61 square kilometres and lies five kilometres south of Serica’s Blocks 113/26b and 113/27c in the East Irish Sea, adjacent to the producing Morecambe, Millom and Dalton gas fields. It was awarded to Serica in the 25th UK Offshore Licensing Round.
There are three leads on the block with seismic amplitude support and Serica will undertake a seismic reprocessing study and mapping exercise to identify drilling targets.
